SCRAPS
frames, memories, moments in time.
experimental, emotional, selfie-atorial. reverse-chronological...ish.
when i die, and i am nothing more but these photographs,
i hope to be burned along with my negatives, in the hopes that
the energy suspended in them will be released back into the
world and universe, finally free from the moment.
I REMEMBER:

what, you think i’m above
being a poetic asshole on
my own website?
think again!
more seriously, though, i
genuinely believe in the
importance of play in any
craft, including photography.
not every photo needs to be a
masterpiece, or even good.
sometimes they can suck.
sometimes, all a photo needs
to be is fun and meaningful.

this roll’s date is unlabeled. likely sat in my camera for several months.
most of the frames on this roll are blank due to accidental film back openings.
you can see some of the light leaking from that on here.
this film is also expired.
this roll was souped. if i created a more potent mixture with longer standing times, i’d likely have more substantial results.
i digress. this day was particularly special to me for a number of reasons.
if it wasn’t obvious, i was not the photographer of a few of these photos --
particuarly the ones where i am, of course, not holding a camera.
this photo on the right here has a massive strand of what is likely hair on the scan.
i originally didn’t give enough of a shit to rescan this particular negative. turns out i still don’t. it looks fine!

my friend here, an avid record collector among other things,
is holding a copy of the vince guaraldi trio’s “a charlie brown christmas,”
which i bought as, well, a christmas gift.
this roll is undated. it’s certainly an interesting process trying to discern
the rough time frame of the roll just based on memory and context.
such are the pitfalls of terrible memory on top of frequent marijuana use.
or, i suppose, bad practice.
sorry not sorry that i don’t label my rolls.
